Harbour Restaurant
The restaurant overlooks a picturesque scene of fishing boats moored by the 14th century ancient quay, made even more perfect by the complete absence of traffic in the village itself. Book a window seat and overlook the bay, as you savour a memorable dinner cooked by our French chef, Joachim Monterieux. Jo has had a successful cooking career in England and as far afield as the Pacific Basin with some excellent press reviews. His cuisine is naturally very French, but he is adventurous too. Jo uses as much local produce as possible including estate game, meat, fish and fruit and vegetables from Clovelly's Victorian kitchen gardens, when in season. You can be sure of gastronomic treats when you dine in the Harbour Restaurant at Clovelly. LOBSTER AND CRAB FEAST SUNDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER in support of the National Lobster Hatchery. We pay tribute to Clovelly's famous lobsters and crabs with a day of live folk music, street performers, lobster hypnotist, quay kitchen, wine and beer tasting, local arts and craft, prize draw. For the children there's facepainting, storytelling, walkabout magic, balloon modelling, street theatre and N. Devon A.O.N.B's event-themed craft activities too. The Red Lion Harbour resturant will be offering delicious seafood platters, crab platters and lobster platters each with a complimentary glass of champagne. The National Lobster Hatchery will be bringing along a tank of baby lobsters to the Festival, which will be later released into Clovelly Bay. . strong> ="Arial">CLOVELLY HERRING FESDTIVAL SUNDAY 20TH NOVEMBER Clovelly was once a major centre for herring fishing. This popular festival is held in support of sustainable fishing by traditional methods and to celebrate the herring, the Silver Darlings of the sea. There will also be net making, flax processing and a curragh on show provided by 'Flaxland', plus local stalls. The N. Devon A.O.N.B. will provide event-themed, free craft activities.
